Minister’s Message 16 March
Dear Friends
This Sunday we celebrate the 85th anniversary of the 1st Kinross Boys’ Brigade & Girls’ Association (BBs). Apologies if you already know the story, but while the BBs in Kinross was originally set up in 1892, it was re-founded in 1940 by evacuees from Glasgow. So, as we celebrate this anniversary, we are reminded of the importance of timing. Sometimes the right idea just needs the right opportunity to flourish.
What's more, in my pastoral visits recently, I have been hearing stories of Kinross over the decades and the different ways in which people in our community have contributed to this town. Helped shape it as it has grown and responded in service to all the many lives lived as part of this parish.
Both insights reveal the tangible impact we all have on this place. While these stories no doubt have their own nuances of administration and frustration that will be intertwined with joy and affection, they nonetheless stand as an encouragement to us as a community. God and his people have history in this place and there are many contributions over the years that would be worthy of celebrating. So, as we journey through Lent, setting our faces towards Easter, we prepare ourselves for the continued impact of God in our time and pray that we too may get wrapped up in it.
As with previous BB services, we hope that this Sunday's service will be open and engaging for all ages, allowing us to celebrate together.
Every blessing.
